Symptom
After upgrading AhsayOBS from version 6 to AhsayCBS version 7.3.2.0 - 7.5.0.6, backup account with password containing less than 6 characters can be created in the AhsayCBS console.
In previous version of AhsayOBS, a backup user's password must be at least 6 characters in length. The following error message is displayed if the requirement was not met when creating a backup account:
Cause
This is a known issue with AhsayCBS version pre-7.7.0.0.
By default, the password complexity requirement is not enabled for the [Default settings] policy group (policy group which applies to all backup accounts).
Resolution
To enable the password complexity requirement for all backup accounts:
Login to the AhsayCBS console, select [Backup / Restore] > [Users, Groups & Policies]:
Under the [Policy Group] tab, select [Default settings].
- Enable the [Password] switch under [User Settings].
Modify the [Complexity Requirements] as required:
- Save afterward.
