Hosting Plan Price
Non-branded $25/month
Co-branded (Powered by Ahsay) $75/month

AhsayCBS management console hosting fee is for the hosting and maintenance of your own dedicated AhsayCBS backup server instance which is the core component of the Ahsay backup service, managing all the user accounts, backups, and restores. The hosting fee depends on the hosting plan you select and is in addition to your subscription fee for storage and backup service.

There are two types of AhsayCBS Management Console hosting plans:

  • For a non-branded hosting plan the hosting fee is US$25 per month.
Uses the default Ahsay branding for AhsayCBS Management Console, AhsayOBM/AhsayACB backup agents, and Ahsay Mobile.
  • For a co-branded hosting plan the hosting fee is US$75 per month.
This includes the use of your own custom logo for AhsayCBS Management Console and AhsayOBM/AhsayACB backup agents. However, due to limitations of the Google Play and Apple App Store the co-branding of Ahsay Mobile app is not available.

  • Scenario 2 Microsoft 365 (100 Users): An AhsayCBS backup server managing 2500 GB of data from the backup of 100 Microsoft 365 users accounts.
  • Scenario 3 VMware/Hyper-V/Exchange/MS SQL/Oracle: An AhsayCBS backup server managing 5000 GB of data from the backup of virtual machines and databases from an unlimited number of VMware/Hyper-V hosts and or an unlimited number of databases servers (MS Exchange, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB).

In contrast to the traditional software licensing model, which is based on the number of copies of our software installed on different computers, Ahsay Backup Software (DIY) licensing fee is derived from the total amount of backup data generated by our software instead. It doesn't matter whether the backup data are being stored on-premise locally or in the cloud remotely. The license fee under this licensing model is generally cheaper than the one under traditional model and most users will end up paying less on software license with this model. The exact calculation of Ahsay Backup Software (DIY) license fee is based on the both volume and types of backup data (per backup set) with the rates and supported systems set out in the following table where the three different types of backup data defined are:

  1. Files or NAS which involve backing up of plain files only
  2. Applications, Databases or Virtual Machines which involve backing up different business applications, e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, VMware
  3. Microsoft 365 which involves backing up of Outlook, Sharepoint, OneDrive and Team data in Microsoft 365 accounts

Notes:

  • Typically, a new backup set is required to backup a new device
  • There are different minimum and maximum license fees per backup set for different types of backup data
  • If you are backing up data to multiple destinations, only the data in the largest destination is charged
  • An initial deposit of US$100 is required to get started. You will be billed for the license fee of the previous month based on usage at the beginning of each month. You are required to settle the payment using the initial deposit or the credit card on file

Examples

Assuming you are required to backup the following systems, the total license fee required is $0.5 + $1.5 + $5 + $1 + $5 + $10 + $6 + $10 + $3.5 + $53 + $110 = $205.5/month

Backup Data Fees Calcuation Formula License Fees
Notebook (10GB) $0.005 x 10
= $0.05 [Min. $0.5]
$0.5
QNAP/Synology NAS (300GB) $0.005 x 300 = $1.5 $1.5
File Server (2,000GB) $0.005 x 2000 = $10 [Max. $5] $5
VMware Host (50GB)* $0.01 x 50 = $0.5 [Min. $1] $1
Hyper-V Host (500GB)* $0.01 x 500 = $5 $5
Hyper-V Host (20,000GB)* $0.01 x 20000 = $200 [Max. $10] $10
MySQL (600GB) $0.01 x 600 = $6 $6
SQL Server (2,000GB) $0.01 x 2000 = $20 [Max. $10] $10
Microsoft 365 (50GB, 5 mailboxes)** $0.01 x 50 + $0.5 x 5
= $0.5 [Min. $1] + $2.5
$3.5
Microsoft 365 (300GB, 100 mailboxes)** $0.01 x 300 + $0.5 x 100 = $53 $53
Microsoft 365 (4,000GB, 200 mailboxes)** $0.01 x 4000 + $0.5 x 200
= $40 [Max. $10] + $100
$110
Total: $205.5

Notes:
* independent of the number of virtual machines to backup
** include all Sharepoint, OneDrive and Teams data within the same Microsoft 365 organization

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much storage size is required to backup my data ?

The built-in advanced deduplication and compression in Ahsay backup agent can save you lots of storage space for backup by default but the typical business practice of keeping all versions of data for 365 days will eat up your storage gradually. As a rule of thumb, simply choose the package above with size equals to the size of your data to backup. It is usually the best fit for most situations.

2. Where do you store my backup data in AMBaaS ? Is it safe ?

Backup data in Ahsay Managed Backup-as-a-Service (AMBaaS) is stored on Ahsay Drive which is powered by Microsoft Azure. Microsoft guarantees at least 99.99% availability and usually have a data center node close to you for fast access. Security is also monitored 24x7 to prevent attack from hackers. It requires no I.T. knowledge to setup the best possible backup solution for all your critical business systems to a secure cloud storage easily.

3. Is it possible to perform on-premise backup without saving data to the cloud ?

If you are not allowed to backup your data to cloud for security reasons due to regulations, you can setup a on-premise system similar to Ahsay Managed Backup-as-a-Service (AMBaaS) to fulfil your backup need. With Ahsay Universal Backup System (AhsayUBS), it is possible to install a complete backup system to bare metal computer in less than 15 minutes. You can then backup everything onsite to AhsayUBS and optionally replicate all backup data offsite to another computer also running AhsayUBS in another geographic location. This gives you the complete control of your backup infrastructure with no data in the hands of external parties. The following table lists some of the DELL PowerEdge servers supported by AhsayUBS with their recommended retail prices for your reference. Click here for details of AhsayUBS features.

Servers CPU Memory HDD Total Raw Space Reference Price
PowerEdge R250 Xeon E-2314 4C 8GB 8 x 8TB 64TB $4250
PowerEdge T150 Xeon E-2314 4C 8GB 4 x 8TB 32TB $3500
PowerEdge T350 Xeon E-2314 4C 8GB 8 x 8TB 64TB $5950

4. Is it cheaper to backup to local, instead of cloud, drive ?

Cloud storage comes with high level of redundancy and availability by default and therefore usually have a higher price tag. If you don't require offsite protection, using AhsayOBM to backup your data to a local drive is a cheaper alternative. However, it usualy requires an expansion to your local disks to store backup data. The following table shows a list of direct attached storage (DAS) devices, which can be plugged into a PC/server through UBS port to expand its storage immediately, with their recommended retail prices. In most cases, the acquisition cost of buying one DAS device, including all hard disks, would be similar to the subscription fee for cloud storage for one year, without considering the power to keep the DAS device running. You can visit QNAP official website for full hardware specification.
