Peak Backup (PB) was established to enhance the backup services of its parent company, Core Tech Firm. In earlier years, PB had been offering online backup services based on expensive systems, yet the company failed to meet its business objectives in providing reliable and scalable backup solutions to its small/medium-sized customers.

In 2004, PB spent half a year trialing different backup products available in the market. However the outcomes were unfavorable that they all have limitation in either cost or scalability. The company purchased their first Ahsay™ OEM license in November 2004 and found that the performance of the product was exceptionally well.
